Mini Tales

Highlight #7: Spinvasion. My very first on this Gryphon Zamperla, freshly opened last year. As good as the rotation speed is, the swings are still a bit soft. It's an experience worth trying out, but it's not all that impressive.

Highlight #6: Ghostwood Estate. A trackless interactive dark-ride. It's not as bad as all that, although the atmosphere of this ghost hunt lacks a little excitement. But a park with a dark ride like this is great!

Highlight #5: Exterminator. So it's just a simple Wild Mouse Reverchon, but it has the merit of offering an indoor theme well suited to the attraction's model! And just like Jolly Rancher Remix, it's not the attraction itself that makes it original, but what surrounds it.

Highlight #4: Thunderbolt. An old-fashioned wooden coaster again =] And a good, comfortable one, of course! What's special about this ride is that the downhill sections run along the top of the terrain, creating steep curves that are higher than you're used to. Some of the bends are taken at high speed and are barely banked, giving the ride a real punch. In the same vein, the Jack Rabbit does the same thing and delivers the same style, minus the side swings.

Highlight #3: Sky Rocket. The very first model of its kind from Premier Rides, it's absolutely comfortable, but it's really lacking in responsiveness. And because of this weakness, the machine is quickly forgotten, alas… But it's really butter smooth! (That's the point that really stood out for me 🤪)

Highlight #2: Racer, and its Moebius ring. Perhaps not the smoothest wooden recently made, but still better than what we have at home. 🤪 The racing aspect inevitably adds a lot of fun, although the course is rather classic, but comfortable. May the best racer win!

Highlight #1: Phantom's Revenge. Another US legend, with its famous second drop of pharaonic height. It picks up speed really well, and the final air times are delicious, especially at the front of the train. A very fine machine that deserves to be replicated a little more around the world.

The bad news of the visit: no Steel Curtain for us. The park has decided to turn the S&S machine off for the entire season. What a shame, as it was one of my great expectations of this trip.
Day 6: Kennywood. Home of the legendary Phantom's Revenge and its giant drop. A pleasant park with a varied choice of quality attractions. Thanks to the low number of visitors on the day, it was possible to do and redo many of the attractions on offer. The time slot was so large that it even became a little redundant to go round in circles. 😅
